A huge explosion at a warehouse in Tianjin, north-east China, has injured at least 300 people.

The state-run Beijing News said between 300 and 400 people had been admitted to hospitals in the city, east of Beijing. It said the explosion shattered windows and knocked doors off buildings in the area.

Lots of videos claiming to be from the blast have surfaced on social media since the explosion.

The official China Daily said the explosion occurred in a warehouse for dangerous materials, and that the logistics company running the warehouse had proper approval for the business.
